Week 36 June 25th 2019

It has been a pretty good week, Elder Giatras left and we now have Elder Foutz! Monday was a boring P-day, we planned on hanging out with the District but we got stuck at Firestone for most of the day. We first had to go get the tire swapped out. They took the wheel and said they could get it fixed within a couple hours. While it was getting worked on, we went to the store and Elder Kilpack got a haircut. We then had to go fill out an incident report at the mission office. After we were able to come back to Firestone to get the tire put on, we also got a safety inspection it was estimated at about 30-45 minutes and it took over 2 hours, so our P-day was spent doing nothing really fun. We did go out to Chick-fil-A for a shake with the District but then had to go to dinner. The rest of the night we spent with the Roger's. While we were there we did our laundry.
Tuesday morning we started our final exchanges with the Spanish elders. Elder Kilpack and I were with Elder Woods in the Spanish program for the day. We did some extra studies so both Elder Woods could practice his Spanish and Elder Kilpack practiced his ASL. While they did their language studies I started to catch up on my letter writing. We then had some lunch and we were off to the work! We first dropped off a large Bible to a member, we then started to do a lot of stop-byes. Not too much luck but we did a lot of work! For dinner we ate at "Kentucky Bell" (KFC and Taco Bell). After we did a few more stop byes In Beaver Park before going home. While we were there a car drove by while recording us and shouted "Get out of here Feds", we were so confused. Oh well I guess cops must be there a lot.
Wednesday morning we finished up exchanges around 9am. While we were waiting we did exchange inventory, and I was challenged to practice some Spanish for missionary work. After we swapped back we did a little bit of our studies then we left for the day. We met up with Tacia and had a good lesson on the Gospel of Jesus Christ, She really did enjoy it! After Elder Giatras said his last good byes. We then had a lesson with Francis, and we talked about the Priesthood and the Prophets. He had many questions and we did the best we could to help him and he did enjoy the answers. We then had dinner with the Buchmans at Pho Dakoa a Vietnamese place that is sooo good! I once again got Mongolian Beef. To end the night we had a Book of Mormon study with the Rogers.
Thursday morning we got up early to go out to J and M Diner with Charline, after that we had interviews with our Mission President, President Mavromatis.
We had to be there earlier for a training with the Zone Leaders and Sister Training Leaders. It was on how to more effectively daily plan. Then while waiting for our interview time we did our own daily planning. We talked about the story of "what lack I yet" and one thing I am doing to be more consecrated to the work is to have a deeper studies in the Bible. I also found out I am able to help teach my little Sister Kaylee to help prepare her for Baptism in October! I can't wait to help her on this journey to make covenants with God! After we left to have a lesson with Kyle and he wanted to talk about the Priesthood. He really just wanted to know more about the Priesthood and he found peace in it. After we did a few more stop byes then went to dinner at the Roger's, while in the middle of dinner and a lesson, we were doing last minute laundry. To end the night we stopped by Charlines place for Elder Giatras to say his last good-byes. She bought us all presents; I got a really cool journal so I am going to use it for my studies! We then came home and I passed out. Elder Giatras was up doing his last minute packing to prepare for the morning.
Friday we left pretty early to be at the Cambridge Chapel to drop off Elder Giatras for his new area that is coming to our mission. We expected heavy traffic but there wasn’t really any so with the extra time we ate breakfast at McDonald's. After we got to the Chapel, I got my flag signed by a lot of the missionaries there. We also picked up Elder Foutz for are continuation of the trio. Right after we made a one hour journey to Franklin to be at District Council. We met our new District. We have four sisters, Kiki, Tueler, Mendoza, and Tychingo. Then the three of us. We have a pretty cool District though. We had a lesson on the Atonement for us and other missionaries, then a role-play about the Atonement for the ones we teach. After we left back to our area and had an early dinner because we were really hungry. We once again ate at Kentucky Bell. After we had a lesson with Merrilees, we have taught her a couple times and her husband has never participated, but today he did! It was awesome to have his input. We did a “how to begin teaching” and asked what they knew and what they personally believe. They have a desire to learn more and at this point it is having the spirit testify of the truth of our message. After them we were able to meet with Campos a less active member who is also a recent Convert. We shared with him a short message of love and teaching about Christ to the ones around us. He wasn't doing the best spiritually so we helped him with a blessing. After him we did a few more stop-byes in hope to set up a few lessons but we had no luck.
Saturday was a pretty fun day it ended with a party at the Chapel. To start the day we had our studies. After studies we called all of the referrals we had to try to set up an appointment, sadly someone said that they weren't interested anymore so we had to stop trying with him. After we did some daily contacting and had lunch. We got a call of help from the Roger's because their downstairs flooded a little bit, luckily they caught it in time. We ran over and helped them take out all the items in the room to the outside to dry out. After we came home to change back into proselyting clothes to share a message with a family in the ward. Their oldest son is going on a mission on a couple weeks to Salt Lake City Central mission. We talked on being a member missionary and preparing for a mission. At the beginning it was hard to feel the spirit but by the end it was there! They all really opened up and shared a lot of insights! After we had an awesome time with them we left to have a lesson with Evan's. It had been a little bit since we met with him last. While we were there we had a lesson on Tithing and Fast Offerings. He found a lot of peace in it. He couldn't come to church tomorrow but plans on it next week! We then had to hurry to another lesson. When we got there he wasn’t there, we even called a couple times. With the lesson being cancelled we went to try to drop off a Book of Mormon but she was sleeping. To end the night we went to the Chapel for the party. It was really fun, we had a few members and a friend we were teaching there, They really enjoyed it!
Sunday was a pretty good day, it was by far one of my favorite Sunday Services I've been to. We had three amazing talks and both Kyle and Francis were there. One on growing a testimony, one of adversity and the last one on preparing for a mission. In the second one something really stood out to me. "How can we avoid sorrow in adversity. We can't, well at least not in the moment. In times like these we should learn to laugh". As we learn to laugh it will truly makes us happier even in hard times! In Elders Quorum today we talked on the Priesthood and Priesthood responsibilities. Kyle ended up taking a few notes. I am excited to learn what he thought and what he learned this upcoming week! We talked to Sister Billeter about introducing Kyle to the YSA ward. She has two kids that go there. We also talked to Sister Rogers and she asked if we could go over to her house to help Mark bring back in all the boxes so they could stay dry. When we got there he was mowing the lawn, and we talked to see what we could do to help. He needed to get new boxes so we ended up not bringing in the boxes. We then just talked to them to see how best we could help. We were already in service cloths so why not. While we were all their, Neveah (the Roger's daughter) was swimming in the pool. She tried to swim with out a life jacket. She jumped in the deep end and got as far as she could. She could see and was near the middle, she was freaking out, asking for help and on the edge of drowning. I was the closest and with out hesitation I jumped in after her. She was super happy that she didn’t drown. So were the Rogers! She then had to stay in the shallow end or use a life jacket. Later on while we were doing some studies she wanted to go back swimming but she also wanted her "life saver" to be out as well. It gave me a little chuckle and joy in my heart. We then had some dinner with them. After dinner we had "tent time" aka we got in a tent with three sugar gliders, they were so cute! We had some studies with Sister Roger's from the Doctrine and Covenants, to help her have a better understanding. To end the night we came home and called other members of the District to show our support and to see if we could help them out with anything.

     Doctrine and Covenants 112:10

"10 Be thou humble; and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand, and give thee answer to thy prayers."

God can grant us the desires of our hearts. He wants to do it, but it requires an act of faith. One way we can act on faith is through prayer. So when you have a desire, be humble, be patient, and with a heart with love kneel down in prayer and ask God for yourself. The Lord thy God will help guild you to the path you have set out for you to better yourself spiritually. I promise it will be the best thing you can do for yourself. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Week 35        6-17-19
It was just a regular P-day, talked to the family, and they are starting to work towards my little Sisters Baptism! I am so happy for her and her faith she has to step into these special covenants with God and following Christ's example! I am going to talk to my Mission President to see if I can help out in Skype calls! We later went to the store and bought 5 bags of Brazilian Cheese bread, they are sooo good! To end the night we had dinner with the Roger's and their dog Mako fell asleep on my foot.
Tuesday was a long day, took longer than expected, we had a big move. We first traveled down to Franklin Massachusetts. Over there we met up with Elders Braga and Foutz, they helped us out while we were there. We moved out a senior couple that went home. After getting everything into the truck and trailer, we travelled down to Quincy Mass to drop most stuff off. We met up with Sisters Hansen and Christensen and helped move Sister Massey into her new apartment. She is a single service missionary whose calling is for family tree photographing documents. She was really grateful for the help we gave, so she bought us some pizza! While we were there she fell twice so we had her take a nap as we left. I was even able to help give a dedication blessing on her home. It was a great opportunity to act on the priesthood. We then were able to swap a couple items she didn't take into our apartment so now we have a new desk chair! It's super nice. Then we didn't have enough time to drop the trailer off at Weston, then went straight to dinner at the Rogers. We had a lot of fun. We the
Went to stop by the Escobar's to check in on them. They even had Crispy Cream Donuts!!!  There are very few Crispy Creams out here. To end the night we dropped the trailer off at Weston then came home.
Wednesday we had a lesson with Kyle in the morning and we ended up meeting at a local park. It went pretty well. We talked about commandments and the blessing that come from following them. We then made our way to the mission office to pick up some things for our move. We then made our way to the Cambridge chapel, to drop off the supplies. Before we came back we stopped by the mall to go get some Panda Express. It took about 30 minutes to find parking but it was so worth it! We then came home got changed and went out for a lesson with Francis. We went over a few of the commandments with in the church. He even committed to follow the Word of Wisdom and Law of Chastity! He has a strong desire to be baptized! After that we had a later dinner but we went to Uno's for dinner with the Buchmans. They are so much help to us missionaries. We then came home and got ready for exchanges. Elder Giatris and I went with Elder Woods to the Spanish program for the day. Pretty much as soon as we exchanged and got back to their apartment we went to bed.
Thursday was a fun but rainy day. We woke up and had some studies. I started to read the Bible so I can have a better understanding of it and I know it will help me in my teaching for sure! I also studied out of the Book of Mormon. After we did our studies we went out to Marlborough to do service at the food bank. We met up with the Portuguese Elders there as well. Oh boy was it raining pretty well. We helped bring all the food in from the truck that dropped it off, along with helping organize it. By the time we finished we were drenched.  We then came home for Elder Woods to do Language studies and Elder Giatras and I passed out on the couch's. After we woke up we did some daily contacting.  We then made our way to the Roger's for dinner, and we had some delicious burgers! After dinner we went and did some tracting and a lesson. Elder Woods gave a whole restoration lesson by himself in Spanish. He did awesome and this is only second transfer in! To end the night we transferred back to be with our own champions again.
Friday we had District Leadership Council, as of recently our District is changing up so in the new District starting next week Elder Kilpack will be a District Leader. We talked a lot about having a vision and setting goals to help others come closer to Christ. We then had District Council and the whole message was on Christ's Atonement.  They were many good insights shared and it was truly centered on the loving sacrifice of Christ's Atonement. Right after District Council we had a lunch at home and brought in our car for new oil, break check, and tire rotation. While waiting we went to the Lazyboy Store that was next door. We sat in chairs and couches and almost took a nap they were so comfortable. After an hour we went to go check on the truck and it still had around an hour left. So we had to cancel dinner because the truck was still in the shop. We decided to out to eat at Smash Burger while we waited. To end the night we did some tracting and stop byes.
Saturday morning I packed for my second Exchange in the Spanish Program. I was with our District Leader Elder Neeley. We started by doing studies. When it came time for companion study, I was challenged to say a prayer in Spanish. I was even given a book to help me out. I tried the best I could but it was in both English and Spanish. Elder Neeley had extra studies for his learning a language so I continued to transfer my notes in my new Book of Mormon. We then had a lunch with a member of the branch and it was fun to get to know her more.  After we did some tracting in the area and we saw a canal and there was a bike in it. As I went to reach to pull it out my phone fell in. I then needed to hop in to get it out.  We did more tracting later on, in different parts of  our area. While looking for someone else at a home a lady came out and wanted to know more. She has an interest in finding a new faith that can help her and her son. It was awesome to be there at the right time. She even said she knows that God sent us her way. Cool part about it is, she is English speaking so I can continue to teach her with my companions. We then came home for dinner then left to our lesson we had in the northern part of our area. We had a good time, I even read in Spanish. All I can say is there is a reason I am in the English program. After a few more stop byes we came home and I wrote in my journal then we fell asleep.
Sunday morning we got up, I packed took a shower then we exchanged back. After I got back with my companions we relaxed then we left to the Franklin Chapel to be at Stake Conference, where Kyle even came! There were many good talks. They were all focused on having your testimony focused on Christ and his Gospel. The question was asked “what am I or can I do to be a better disciple of Christ.” It reminded me of a talk from October 2015 General Conference "What Lack I Yet?" Even if we feel we are doing the best we can, there is always something that we can do better, so we should pray and ask God. He will tell you something personal that can help you progress towards being a greater instrument in his hands. After we got a picture with most the missionaries serving in the Stake (Black Stone Valley). We came home to have lunch and do some weekly planning, I was also able to call home and talk to my cousin who leaves on her mission this week! Also talk to my family and wish my Dad a Happy Father's Day. We didn't get too far into weekly planning until we had to leave to dinner. While on the way we scrapped against a side stone wall, and blew out the tire. First thing was pull to the side of the road and put on emergency flashers. We talked to the owner to swap information, and slowly backed the car into a side street for more room Then we were able to talk to the owner to swap info and see what we could do. He soon went inside and we proceeded to change the tire. It was raining pretty hard, and we didn’t know what tool to use to drop the tire. A gentleman pulled over in a super nice truck then proceeded to help us out. It was pouring rain and it took so much longer than expected. He was really kind and able to help out a ton! He only asked for us to pay it forward. All in all God was truly watching out for us. This was by far the most minimal damage that could have happened along with the guy being there at the right time! After we were on the road we called to inform our vehicle coordinator and we have to get the wheel replaced tomorrow. We then made it to a late dinner with the Apkes, and it was a really good steak and salad. We then were able to talk to the oldest about a Mission and our experiences with when and why we chose to serve. To end the night we came home to do a little more planning. We even found out that when Elder Giatras leaves this upcoming Friday we will be in a trio still, this Friday I will be with Elder Kilpack and once again Elder Foutz! It will be a fun time!

                   Mathew 19:20

"20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?"

In this passage a young boy who is very rich and is talking to Christ to see what he can do to follow him. He follows all of the 10 commandments, and is very faithful. Christ told him to get rid of all of his possessions, but he couldn't do it. At times we may feel like we are doing everything needed to follow Christ. We should ask him in prayer what can we do better? What is stopping me from progressing? "What Lack Yet?" When Christ answered our prayers who should respond faithful and act on the prompting that we may receive. Only then can we truly follow Christ even more then we thought we could! I promise you that if ask Christ yourself in prayer "What Lack I yet" and act on what you hear, you will have a greater love for Christ! I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

I also would invite you to read or listen to this talk. It has strengthened my Love for Christ even more!

Wed, Jun 12, 6:52 PM

Heads up we've been super busy so this might be a shorter email.

Monday morning we had a breakfast at J&M diner with Charline to celebrate her birthday. We also ended up going into Cambridge for a small move. We helped bring some stuff for them to help with a trio they were going to be having. After we came home to relax then head over to the Roger's for dinner.
Tuesday morning we went over to visit Kyle and we are getting a lot of stuff accomplished with him! He has a lot of potential and he is so close to baptism. He has felt the spirit and he won't deny it. Our second lesson canceled. So we were able to help out brother Paganella with his yard. We went to Lowes to get a ton of rocks, that we placed it around his house in a pit. His yard is looking a lot better! We had a dinner later on with the Buchmans at Terra Brassil, a delicious Brazilian buffet! After we came home to clean up and prepare for our trio we will be having here in Framingham.
Wednesday morning we came back to brother Paganellas home again because he let us wash a truck, it was much needed. Before we cleaned it we helped get more bags of rocks. Brother Paganella is a Hoot in a half, he is a funny man. After we cleaned the truck, we left to the Weston Chapel to be at transfers. We did some talking and socializing with other missionaries for a little bit. We finally got to meet our New companion Elder Kilpack, he's originally from Camdenton Missouri, but now lives in Woodscross, Utah. We went for a late lunch, then right after was a dinner with the Blake-Pierce family. We got so full! We had a good time with them. After dinner we came home to let Elder Kilpack unpack.
Thursday we had to drop off some items to Elders in Providence Rhode Island. It was my first time in Rhode Island. We had a really fun time. So far the trio has been a lot of fun. For lunch because on moves we get money for lunch we decided to but 180 nuggets from Burger King!  We had a great time, and there were so many! As we got back to our area we left to the Roger's for dinner and a lesson with their daughter (foreign exchange student). She really just wants to know what we believe and teach. We had a great lesson on the Plan of Salvation. She found it really intriguing.
Friday morning we got ready for the day and left off to be at District Council. It was the first time in our new District and it went really well! Our lesson was on the spirit in your own personal conversion to the work. We also talked about how we can get more involved with members. After we came back to our area for lunch then back to the chapel to do a tour with a friend we are teaching. The Buchmans came to help us out. Sadly she wasn't able to make it, so we did a video recording instead, it ended up being really good! We then rushed to 99 for dinner with Brother Lopez. It went really well and for dessert we had a chocolate chip cookie with fudge in the middle, it was so good! After dinner we had a lesson with Charline Jesus. We talked about the Word of Wisdom, and she really likes it and understands why it's there. She has seen an improvement in her self, sinse becoming a member. She even bought pizza for us, and when we got there she locked herself out. She called a maintenance worker to help us out but he could get it to work. After he left, I messed with the key and we got in. To end the night we met with Brother Buchman and Campos. He is a recent convert, and has been out of town for almost 10 months. It was great to finally meet him. He has a string desire to change and to return! We plan on doing studies with him and others soon.
Saturday we finally had enough time to do studies in the morning. We get busy all the time so it was nice to do a full session of studies. After we left for a couple lessons we had. One fell through so we did stop bye’s and talked to people who are on our list of potentials. We then had a lesson with Francis, and he asked about the steps to baptism. He has a true desire to change and learn. He has felt the spirit so strong with us and while at church. We hope to have a date for baptism with him soon.  After him, we had a dinner/lesson with the Roger's. It was help to prepare them/help them return to church. We came home and we then had as a companionship deep conversation about the Gospel. They have been very spiritual and uplifting.
Sunday was a crazy busy day but it went really well! After I woke up, Elder Giatris asked if I remembered last night. It turns out I was responding to them after I fell asleep, I was sleep talking. He then said what happened.  He said "Elder Knowlden, I love you". Sister Wilde called us and asked if it would okay for her and Elder Wilde to come to our chapel for today's service. She wanted to join and help out Syndie. We ended up having three friends at church today! Kyle, Francis, and Syndie, even the Roger's came today! It was awesome to see them all there. We then went to go help brother Paganella. He was handing out flags in the parade. We took the truck and the stroller full of flags and we went to try and meet him at the parade start. Along the way the traffic was really bad, we then got detoured because the streets got blocked. We then asked a cop where it started so we left to where he told us. It ended up being the end of the parade, and we got stuck in nearly an hour long traffic jam so unfortunately we missed it. Luckily he had flags with him to pass out. We then left home to get some supplies then went to dinner with the Masons. They had friends over and it was fun to be all around them. After dinner we did some stop byes for people with interest and we got a referral to a lady who ended up living in a field. At least with the address we had, we called to leave a message and we are hoping for the best. To end the night we left to the Rogers to talk with them about church, and answer any questions they had. Sister Roger's has a strong desire to return to the temple, so that's what we are working with now! We came home later then expected but we helped her a lot!

                    Proverbs 3:5-6
"5 ¶ Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths"

Just as this passage says, trust in the Lord, but not just trust but with all thy heart. As we trust him and pray, ask for insights and knowledge to widen your faith. As you show trust and act on faith, he will direct your path to a better future. At times it will be hard but Christ will always be there to help build you up. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Cheesecake Factory
Helping Move

Monday was a slow and lazy day, but we had lots of fun. For lunch Sister Jesus took us out to "The Cheesecake Factory" and we had lots of fun. She was so kind and just wanted us to try out her favorite restaurant.  We are so blessed haha, we would never have enough money to do that ourselves, but she insisted that she would pay for us. I was so full but she insisted I get a cheesecake. So I got a Hershey's Chocolate Bar Cheesecake and it was pretty good! We then came home and cleaned and did the usual P-day activities. We skipped dinner because lunch filled us up so much. Around 6 we started to text and call our friends for the day to check in on them. We decided to stop by Brother Rogers but when we got there it looked like no one was home. After him we tried to go visit our friend Tacia but she had friends over, so we couldn't stop by. After she let us know she couldn't meet up brother Rogers messaged us saying he was home. Luckily we didn’t go too far from his house. We had a good talk with him and he is just such a spiritual man, I can’t get over it. One of his foreign exchange students is from Italy and he gave us some Italian chocolates, they were pretty good. As missionaries we have limited miles and we were doing really good, and some Sister Missionaries in our District needed some help so we were able to help them out!
Tuesday, we had interviews with President Mavromatis. This time was a little different. We ended up going in together as a companionship and we had a short training on goals and plans to meet our goals. "Our goals reflect the desire of our hearts". As we have a goal set in mind that we have faith in, God will help make it achievable for us. For the week we wanted one friend on date for baptism, two new friends to teach and 2 friends at church. After interviews we then went to do some tracting in our area and stopped by a lot of people on our potentials list. We didn't have much luck, but we did find out a few of them moved, so it’s a start! After doing that we tried going to a Chinese place downtown Framingham, but it opened at a later hour so we ended up just waiting for dinner. We had one last appointment before dinner and it was with Tacia. We had a good lesson on faith and praying to know for yourself! Through prayer she had a strong feeling to continue to learn. She is now going to pray about baptism! After our lesson with her we left to meet brother Kim for a late dinner at Kens Steakhouse. It was so delicious, I got a ribeye steak and it was amazingly delicious! While at dinner we watched a video that was made to make people to hate the church and stuff people think the church wants to hide from the public. We let him know all of it was and is true all of it happened and we helped explain why it happened. He really liked what we have to say. He laughed and said "if you have a testimony in the Church and Christ's Gospel this should change it". I found that amazing and yes because of a testimony it should not weaken your faith. I had a huge headache so we called up the Spanish Elders and they helped out giving me a blessing.
Wednesday, there was a scheduled move for tomorrow (Thursday) and we also need an apartment check. We were planning on getting it Friday morning, so did a really nice deep clean of our apartment. The kitchen looks so much better now! I also did a deep clean of my bathroom. For most of the morning after studies that's what we did so we could prepare for the inspection on Friday. After cleaning we went to the mission office to drop off the vacuum that Elder Wilde let us use for the truck, we also got the new pass along cards! After we visited them we did some stop bye’s & did some daily contacting. We had Burger King for dinner. We then stopped by Clauzi because she wanted to meet with us, when we got there she wasn't there. We went back to the truck and it wouldn't start, we gave the Spanish Elders a call to see if they could help jump start it, luckily they were able to help out! While waiting for them Clauzi came home so we were then able to meet with her! She has had lots of personal experiences with the Holy Ghost and wanted to know more about it. She said on Sunday she was going to leave early and she heard a voice say "turn around, don't leave", she ended up staying for the second hour and she really liked it! Before we left she gave us some of the dinner she made. We then stopped by the Rogers to drop of a dessert for them because Brother Rogers is no longer on his diet. The truck once again stopped working and wouldn't start. So luckily brother Rogers helped us out.
Thursday, the first thing we did in the morning was go to an appointment with Kyle at his home. We had a great time and got to know him more and his experiences with the Holy Ghost, he said from what he has felt he CAN NOT deny that and it is from God. He said that is a fact. After we left, ONCE AGAIN the truck wouldn't start, and we planned on taking it in after the move. We did not turn the car off at all. We picked up a few things from the storage unit to take to the Salvation Army store. We even were able to swap out a couch for one at our place. We shortly left and it was later then we intended so we had to reschedule our earlier appointment. When we got there the donation center was already full so we still had about 60% of what we brought. After we dropped off the furniture the truck turned off and it wouldn't turn back on. We ended up calling the missionaries in the area and they are our Zone Leaders. We charged the truck for over 30 minutes and still nothing. We called Elder Wilde, and he wasn't to happy with us, this is the 4th time in a 24 hour period it wouldn't start and he told us last night when we can bring it to a dealership to get it checked out. We were already planning on it after we got back from the move. The Spanish Elders are teaching a mechanic who was able to help us out! Also we had a tow truck on the way, and they both got there at the same time! Luckily the mechanic got it started. He took a crowbar and went under the truck, then started hitting things. All we heard was some banging, next thing he said was turn on the truck, and boom it started! We officially never turned the car off until we got home, literally! We had to first drop off the trailer at the Weston chapel. When we got back it was 5 hours later then we expected. After that we stopped by a members home to ask if we could leave it running in their driveway while we did some street contacting and buy something from the store. We then took a birthday present to someone we were teaching and yes we kept it running in the parking lot of her apartment. Today was just so stressful, it amazes me that God is truly looking out for us. If the Martha’s Vineyard Branch didn't say they could take care of the furniture, we would have all of these problems on the Island far away from all of the help we were able to get!
Friday morning was an early one, and the very first thing we did was take in the truck to the Chevy Dealership. They were pretty much booked for the day so they said they would see what they could do. We had to call up the Spanish Elders for a ride because we were now stranded for the day. They were able to pick us, and after we went to their place to do some studies before we left to District Council. While waiting, Elder Giatras and I prepared for our lesson in District Council. We mainly had a discussion on all the trainings we have had this past transfer. There has been a big emphasis on Goals and Planning. After our lesson we had another mission wide conference call. Today we talked about using Family History to help teach people.  After that ended the Spanish Elders and us went out for a quick lunch at a Chinese buffet, wasn't the best but still good. We then came back to the chapel and we were stranded there with no car. We then started to do some weekly planning and we set up a couple of appointments with some friends. We did a lot of waiting. We eventually did get a ride from the Spanish Elders and they took us straight to the dealership because the truck got finished! They had to replace the starter. Right after we picked up the truck we left to go help brother Paganella with some yard work. We dug up a flower bed and removed a lot of weeds from it to prepare to put rocks in it to make it look more nice. We ended up doing that for most of the night, we just went to McDonald's on the way home to get smoothies, and it was so worth it.
Saturday was a fun day we even had a move. The first thing we did was head to the Weston chapel for the trailer. We then had to break/smash some furniture it was very stress relieving. On the way to the storage unit I found a Tick on my pant leg, I was freaked out. The Rasmussen’s bought us some pizza for lunch. We went into Brockton to take a full set of furniture to some Elders who have a new apartment. While on the way we started to get transfer text and sadly Elder Giatras is leaving. The weird thing about this transfer is we get a new area three weeks into it. So Elder Giatras will be going into a trio for the first half then into his new area, He will be doing two moves. The Elders we helped were originally in a 4 Elder apartment now both companionship's have their own places. Our trailer became like the ark, two of everything. It was probably the quickest move we did, and it was great. Right after we finished we dropped off the trailer and went to a lesson with a referral we got the other day. He moved into our area and wanted to continue to learn. His name is Francis, and he didn’t have much time,  so we got to know him more and shared a message on the Title of Liberty. How we should put our faith and our trust in God first. After our lesson we had dinner with the Waltch family, Brother Waltch had been smoking ribs all day, and was so excited to try them out. We had a good talk on missionary work and about the friends we are teaching. To end with a message we talked to them about the Title of Liberty as well. We then invited them to make there own family “Title of Liberty”. We plan to follow up with them later in the week. To end the night we went to visit the Rogers and break the news to them. They are sad to see him go. We ended up having burgers and smores with them. They had a friend come over and we were able to talk to them and share a message. We would have gone home earlier but our laundry card broke so they let us wash our cloths there.
Sunday right as we woke up we called the Zone Leaders to see if it was possible to take Francis to church because he truly wanted to come. They said it would be best to get a member to pick him up. We luckily got a hold of Brother Fejardo and he helped us out big time. At church both Kyle and Francis came! Next week we hope to have three friends come. With it being fast and testimony meeting and I feel like almost all were trusting in God, something amazing happened and even Francis bore his testimony and it was really good! For Sunday School, we talked about the Parable of the Ten Virgins. It is a meaning to prepare to see Jesus before it is too late. The question was asked “what can I do now that will prepare me to see him”. Simply by endure to the end. What that means is continue to read scriptures, pray and ask God yourself what could be stopping you, attend church and many more. After the lesson we were able to get Brother Trolio to take Francis home, and they seemed to hit it off, I know he has such strong faith and will be baptized soon. We came home to do some studies and we got another referral for a lady who just came into church. We called and set up an appointment to meet her later that day. With our new lesson we came to the Rogers earlier so we could make our lesson. While we came early they had to do other things for dinner and we had wontons instead. They were pretty great! While in the middle of everything we played  Uno attack with them all and had lots of fun. We ended up getting a call from the assistants to the president and they informed us Elder Giatras will be staying here for three more weeks, then moving to the new area. We left around 630 to make our appointment with Syndie, our referral we got earlier that day. She even asked us about baptism! She had a great feeling while at the Church, she loves how Jesus Christ is in the name of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has a desire to learn more and eventually be baptized! She was once baptized as a Baptist but did it at a younger age and only did it with the rest of her family. We went over the Restoration and she agrees with all of it. We felt the spirit so much and set a baptism date with her for July 13th! It was a great way to end the night.

                      Alma 46:12-13
"12 And it came to pass that he rent his coat; and he took a piece thereof, and wrote upon it—In memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wives, and our children—and he fastened it upon the end of a pole.
13 And he fastened on his head-plate, and his breastplate, and his shields, and girded on his armor about his loins; and he took the pole, which had on the end thereof his rent coat, (and he called it the title of liberty) and he bowed himself to the earth, and he prayed mightily unto his God for the blessings of liberty to rest upon his brethren, so long as there should a band of Christians remain to possess the land"

As we have our own “Title of Liberty”, and hold fast to our faith we will truly be protected and blessed in times of need. God is aware of us, and we should be too. When in a world where it is getting much worse, remember God in all things. We should all stay strong and God will never leave us, as we stick together in faith! I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ , Amen
